the castle walls crumbled before us as I held your hand

Daenerys Stormborn found herself dreaming strange things all the time lately, but one dream had been recurring often since she had seen visions while captive in The House of the Undying.

She would be walking towards a giant wall…and as it lifted, found herself at The Wall where winter had begun. Being accustomed to heat she found it odd that she was strangely not shivering in the cold. This, however, was never the most puzzling part of the dream to the Mother of Dragons.

As she walked through the door she would see a man standing not to far off in the distance. Calling to him in an effort to ascertain who he was, he would turn to her and give her a puzzled expression. He was handsome, dark hair that fell in curls around his face and a strong build beneath his long and heavy black cloak. When she looked upon his face she could see the sadness of a thousand battle-scared men, souls wounded from years of seeing people they love die before them. As his eyes fell upon they softened, and she could swear his face bore an expression of someone who knew her…loved her even.

She could see his lips move, and putting her hand to her face to squint into the dense, thick cover of snow blanketing her vision, she always tried to make out what he was saying…but she could never understand his words.

Then…as it always was with this particular dream, she would hear someone shout “DANY!!” painfully out into the white thickness of the snow…as if they were trying to protect her from some unforeseen terror and then she would jolt awake.

Who was this man? How did he know her, yet she did not know him? After all…few people called her Dany anymore. Was this some sort of prophecy, or just random dreaming of a woman? Daenerys laughed quietly to herself in her chambers and the image of the handsome man’s face came into her mind once again. If this man is real, she thought, I hope our paths will cross someday.
